Group Administrator Required

 

Administrator

The Uplands Group of Churches of Cold Ashby, Cottesbrooke, Creaton, Guilsboorough, Hollowell Ravensthorpe Spratton and Thornby requires an administrative support service, to provide secretarial and administrative support to the benefice in a well-organised and timely manner.

Key areas of work

· Preparing, producing and distributing the weekly Pew Sheet and Email, special orders of service and other materials needed for worship.

· Prepare and adapt publicity for parish noticeboards, and communicate with key contacts about events in the Church in co-operation with the leadership team.

· Co-ordinating the maintenance and day-to-day running of the central office equipment, and managing the relationships with other key suppliers to the Group.

· Keep the website and Facebook pages up to date.

· Take up the additional role of Leadership Meeting Secretary and to be responsible for minute taking and administration in relation to this, meeting bi-monthly in the evening.

· Maintaining the Group’s contacts database.

· Performing other ad-hoc support as agreed with the leadership team. 

Requirements of provider

· Attentiveness to detail, discretion and confidentiality.

· An ability to work as part of a team and communicate well

· An ability to prioritise tasks.

· Excellent level of verbal and written communication.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel and Publisher essential.

· Access to own transport

· Experience of using Mailchimp and updating websites would be an advantage.

· Experience as a secretary in a parish office would be an advantage, but is not essential.

Likely time required

· Initially we anticipate the provider would need to spend up to 39 hours per month and be able to invoice at a rate of £10 per hour in accordance with a contract to provide these services on a self-employed basis. 

· Can be worked flexibly, and from home, within certain limitations, but would require some time to be spent in the Parish office in Guilsborough each week and a regular meeting with the Clergy.

· An ability to increase hours around busy periods (for example, the weeks before Christmas & Easter) would be an advantage.

Uplands Group of Churches requires all those involved in serving the Benefice to support Safeguarding and the requirement to have an enhanced DBS Check with Barring is essential as is the attendance of suitable training.
